Encoding.tv, MediaKey Announce DRM Collaboration

LOS ANGELES — Encoding.tv has announced a new collaboration with MediaKey Inc. that enables Encoding.tv to offer the Microsoft-licensed Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM) system to its customer base.

Encoding.tv clients seeking DRM solutions for their Windows Media contents now have a turnkey solution for one-stop encoding and DRM encryption, according to the company.

On the heels of conducting their successful poolside cabana customer get-togethers at the recent XBIZ Summer ’07 Forum in Las Vegas, Encoding.tv said it continues to ramp up client services with the new Mediakey deal.

“Working with Mediakey provides the perfect opportunity to bring our Windows Media encoding service to a new level,” Encoding.tv COO Wil Huang said. “Our customers can enjoy sophisticated DRM encryption on Windows Media content encoded through the Encoding.tv system, all without extra cost. This benefit is tremendous.”

MediaKey CEO Leon Standly concurred with Huang: “Combining Encoding.tv’s professional encoding services with Mediakey’s managed DRM service and solutions, pay site owners will be able to offer superb quality Windows Medias to their viewers while enjoying top of the line securities for their contents.”

To commemorate this new business relationship, Encoding.tv also announced a significant economic benefit for its customers. Encoding.tv has waived the DRM security encryption setup charge on all Windows Media Video (WMV) movies that the company encodes for customers, as long as clients provide a pre-established DRM profile obtained from a DRM solution provider such as Mediakey.

For customers using Flash Video, the Encoding.tv partner company MediaConductor.com will continue to offer the best DRP security encryption with their proprietary flash player, the company said. Both FLV and WMV encoding demos as well as a DRM demo are available at the Encoding.tv website.
